The Student Engagement Centre team required the new office space to be designed to support collaborative working, and bring the team together into one space. The centre had previously been housed in interim accommodation which resulted in the team being fragmented. The new location was highly cellular, partitions were removed to form an open plan office area. A flexible training room was also provided to support the centre.

Both research centres wanted a space designing to support a variety of different work settings; to support both collaborative and autonomous working. The schemes also needed to look modern and professional to reflect the centre’s values. We delivered space plan and design schemes that included restoring a parquet flooring within a boardroom area, specialist lab and testing areas and branding.

Works were also carried out in the main corridor that included new wall and floor covering to bring the space back up to date as it was looking very tired.

The reception area was redesigned from scratch to fully reflect the Estates ethos of “Creating places for excellence”
